Merge WooCommerce and Depop Sales Data for Year-End Sales Summary
A year-end summary across channels means twelve months of exports from each platform, all needing the same cleanup before they can be totalled together.
Why WooCommerce and Depop exports don't line up
- WooCommerce: an Order Date in whatever format your WordPress site's locale is set to; an Order Total that depends entirely on which tax/shipping plugins are installed; a plain numeric Order Number. Also, column layout depends on which export plugin generated the CSV, so two WooCommerce stores can produce different headers entirely.
- Depop: a transaction date column; item price and Depop's payment processing fee as separate lines; a transaction ID rather than a traditional order number. Also, like Poshmark, the export is minimal and mixes sold, refunded, and offer-related rows together.
For year-end sales summary, that mismatch is exactly what causes hours of manual cleanup every period.
